8am–11am Norway Triathlon at Lake Pennessewassee Park
The Norway Triathlon promises to be an exciting and fun sprint triathlon on and around beautiful Lake Pennesseewassee (Norway Lake) in the Oxford Hills region of western Maine. The purpose of the triathlon is to promote healthy active lifestyles, to conserve local natural resources and to help the local businesses and economy. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Western Foothills Land Trust and its mission to conserve and preserve the natural ecosystem, watershed, farm and forest land, and scenic landscapes in western Maine. 11am–4pm Marigold Tearoom at the Norway Historical Society
Pie, Ice Cream, and Iced Tea will be on sale during the Norway Music & Arts Festival. Buy a piece of homemade pie to benefit the Norway Historical Society.
11am–4pm First Universalist Chuch of Norway, 479 Main St.
Come see a demonstration of hewing, and basic mortise and tenon joinery. Try your hand at making cedar shingles with a froe. Get acquainted with the inside of a historic, classic New England timber framed building, as we prepare for the restoration of its bell tower. Join us for an ice cream cone while you visit.
9am–3pm Friends of Norway Memorial Library Book Sale
The book sale is held at the Norway Grange, 15 Whitman Street in Norway and will benefit the Norway Memorial Library. The book sale is also open Thursday, July 12 and Friday, July 13, 2–6pm.
11am–4pm Western Maine Art Group Juried Art Show
Exhibit is open to the public. Prize winners announced at 1pm.
2pm–3pm Poets on the Porch at the Weary Club
Poets on the Porch has been part of the Norway Arts Festival since 2003, and more than 60 poets have participated over the years. At this year's event, local poets will each give two five-minute readings.
